Restarted the modem and router. I don’t know why the key in your connection would change. I am not terribly good with networking but I am not a complete newbie though I have been known to make newbie mistakes. Do you have any suggestions?

There was a tiny button I had completely overlooked which when pressed took me right to the wireless connection. Thank you for that. It will probably help too.

Hello, I was just given this older laptop, HP Pavillion zx which I am trying to fix up for grandkids. Then for some reason, I looked under the lip of the front of the PC, and saw the wireless light was orange. That is outdated and not as secure as AES. Then I figured the wireless card wirepess.

The eireless key not being correct cannot be good. I think it was set up the way it was because we have no close neighbors and the road is also out of range. Unfortunately, the adapter is still shown as unconnected. Click on the blue Change Advanced Settings on the lower left of the window. I think the both of us are missing something obvious but I don’t know what it could be. I also don’t understand why the card shows no wireless networks available. It has a sliding kind of wireless switch and you guessed it, I wiped the front of the PC and I must have 54v the switch to the off position and Braodcom could not for the life of me understand why I couldn’t connect to the internet.


Something is missing that I am not aware of.
