Hello Tez, why do you want the emulator outside the TRS? I could easily cut a hole to allow access to the ribbon so I could use it with other systems too. So i can boot from the emulator and the drive A. I think the easiest way to do this would be to use the switch to change which device has power, but I would like to know for sure. In other words, package it up as self-sufficient external drive which will look tidy next to my TRS M1 or System A couple of these, for instance but not so yellow ;-: I’m very happy with the performance but it does appear rather naked.

Even though your enclosure is a little larger than necessary, it looks like it works well for your purposes. As you can see my solution makes a larger footprint than yours but my TRS M1 and System 80 have no USB port, so a self-contained 5 volt supply was necessary.

An account of bbuslink adventure as forewarned: The emulator is for my Model 1 and System 80, not my Model 4. Exactly what the doctor ordered although it would have looked a buuslink nicer in a low profile one; lots of these old 3. Pictures would be a plus. The screw holes in the bottom of the emulator lined up with those on the bottom of the case so I could secure it in there well.

It might be worth mentioning byslink the HxC also comes in a cased version http: Wired the emulator up to the 5V power supply and issue sorted! A couple of these, for instance but not so yellow ;-: I think mine used to house a SCSI tape drive too. I replaced the drive with the floppy emulator. I’m very happy with the performance but it does appear rather naked.
